  7. What the heck is it?

Smooth MooV is a VERY small FKEY (the resource clocks in a 100 bytes exactly!) that fixes a fault in some QuickTime programs—as described in the QuickTime tips column of  d e v e l o p  magazine issue 13. Smooth MooV (as the name implies) makes QuickTime movies run faster. It does this by simply calling MaxApplZone to increase the application zone to the fullest size possible. If you want to know how this speeds it up, read  d e v e l o p —if not then just trust me.

Please note that Smooth MooV is NOT A QUICKTIME ACCELERATER. All it does is fix a bug in some QuickTime supporting programs to make things smoother. YOUR QUICKTIME PROGRAM MAY NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. So don't expect your Movies to run twice the speed. One place where the “bug” may be prominent is in non-QuickTime programs using Wild Wagic (a utility well worth downloading, I might add).

  22. Smooth MooV was written by me, Peter van der Heide. It was written in about 3 minutes using THINK Pascal—the greatest development system around.
